hey there, JJ with red dirt roots radio.
Bleed the wound with sad sad tunes on a dirt hurt Tuesday , here on the station.
I have for you the morning cup re cap.
There must be a place for old worn out cowboys , a tune sang by Ward Davis and sure there is right here on this segment. Mourn the blues and find resolve through melodic Therapy!
We visited the topic of connectedness a second day in a row, for the simple reason that we learn sometimes from the people we look up to and we are looking up lately to a fellow singer, songwriter and friend of the station Blake Reid . He challenged the emerging , developing artist to stay connected with your music.
It is easy to conform you know, follow trends or winds of change but not always wise! You can lose yourself in the process and later when you do sit down to bear your own soul on a few chords and the truth, you won’t know what to say because you don’t know who you are anymore. So try not to get lost along the way.
And if you do, go back to what built you first Like Miranda Sings in House that built me.
We featured a brand new local red dirt, country artist by the name of Shawn lowheed.
Welcome aboard my friend and Semper Fi, Thank you for your service to our country and congratulations on the progression of your musical pursuits. And glad to have you aboard Shawn, great music by the way.
We also listened to a brand new song by Red Shahan called Culberson county. He’s got some very nice products for sale on his merchandise page at redshahan.com. I particularly liked the hats and cuuzi’s. I shared one from our facebook page @grittyredguitar and while they would make great gifts I’ll tell you I’d have a hard time not being a greedy monkey with merchandise like that.
Well, another Dirt Hurt segment gone by and
Such is life; according to wade Bowen we’re all at the mercy of a butter knife on a plate with death , dying, and deviled eggs.Nice song Wade Bowen.
That’s a wrap for the reCap.
